SAN ANGELO, TX – Angelo State University has announced its intention to open its campus, allow students to move into the residence halls, and teach the fall semester of 2020 in a face-to-face manner for courses normally taught in that mode, beginning on Aug. 24.
The fall 2020 course schedule has been built with that in mind. ASU officials believe the current plan announced by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and the relatively low risk in San Angelo specifically make this decision possible.
The health and well being of students, faculty and staff are of utmost importance. ASU wants all current students and those new students enrolling for the fall semester to know that a series of procedures will be instituted that are designed with input from medical professionals and scientists to guide the university moving forward as safely as possible.
Although it is difficult to provide a complete detailed list at this time due to the changing environment of COVID-19, an outline of procedures will be posted later today on ASU’s COVID-19 webpage at angelo.edu/coronavirus. Updates to those procedures will be posted as they become available.
Those procedures and effective dates are also subject to change if conditions warrant since ASU has no means of predicting the future environment of COVID-19. The safety of the Ram Family remains ASU’s primary concern.
