SAISD Will Host Virtual Kindergarten/Prekindergarten Round-Up

SAN ANGELO, TX – On Thursday, April 16 the San Angelo Independent District announced they will be hosting a virtual version of the annual SAISD Kindergarten/Prekindergarten Round-Up. SAISD will be accepting online applications for its full-day pre-K and Kindergarten programs from May 4-8, 2020.

The district offers Pre-K and kindergarten opportunities for 4- & 5-year-old students. To determine a child’s home campus review attendance zones or enter home address into the bus route finder tool.

Pre-K

Full day prekindergarten programs are available at Alta Loma, Austin, Belaire, Bradford, Fannin, Glenmore, McGill and Reagan Elementary Schools. Bilingual Pre-K programs are offered at Bradford and Glenmore Elementary Schools.

To ensure placement at the Pre-K campus serving the family’s elementary school zone, be sure to register during spring or summer Pre-K registration. Students registering after this time will be assigned to a campus based on availability. 

To be eligible for prekindergarten, children must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2020 and must also meet ONE of the following requirements:

• unable to speak and comprehend the English language
• homeless, foster child­
• meet federal income guidelines
• military eligibility
• is or has been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family & Protective Services following an adversary hearing held as provided by Section 262.201, Family Code

The following documents must be uploaded:

• Child's official birth certificate (Click here to order a Texas birth certificate online)
• Social Security card (Click here to order a replacement social security card)
• DOD Identification (Military ID or orders)
• Updated immunization record (Click here for a list of required immunizations)
• Proof of address (electric, water, or gas bill)
• Verification of current income (last paystub of guardians in the home) OR *SNAP/TANF/ EDG#

Kindergarten

To be eligible for enrollment in kindergarten, children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2020.

Parents need to upload the following documents in order to register their child for kindergarten:

• Child's official birth certificate (Click here to order a Texas birth certificate online)
• Social Security card (Click here to order a replacement social security card)
• Updated immunization record (Click here for a list of required immunizations)
• Proof of address (electric, water, gas bill, or lease/rental agreement)
