SAPD Donates 122 Mobile Hotspots to San Angelo ISD

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department is joining forces with San Angelo ISD to increase internet access as students continue their online-based instruction.

In a statement, SAPD announced it’s IT Section donated 42 Verizon JetPacks and 80 MiFi (mobile WiFi) devices to the district.

SAPD is undergoing an equipment upgrade to the patrol fleet’s in-car hotspot technology, which supports the new in-car video systems. This means the in-car hotspots that were previously used are no longer needed.

“The Department is pleased that the donation will help fill the school district’s technological needs during these unprecedented times and we will continue to provide additional devices as they become available.”
