San Angelo ISD Announces McFarland is New Assistant Superintendent of Business

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Dr. George McFarland will serve as San Angelo ISD's new Assistant Superintendent of Business and Support Services officially replacing Dr. Jeff Bright who retired in December.

According to a press release, Dr. McFarland comes to SAISD with 29 years of educational experience serving as a superintendent, campus principal, athletic coordinator, and classroom teacher.

A native of West Texas, Dr. McFarland holds a doctoral degree from Lamar University (2014). Dr. McFarland is married with three children.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to serve San Angelo ISD in their Business and Support Services areas," said Dr. McFarland. "I look forward to joining a district where competent leadership is present throughout, and where I can hopefully contribute with good stewardship of resources to help the district maximize its ability to serve the students of this great organization.”

Dr. McFarland will begin his new role on April 1, 2020.

He resigned as SISD Superintendent just over a month ago. Seems he couldn't get along with the other school leadership.
