San Angelo ISD Announces Administrative Changes

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Independent School District is pleased to announce several administrative changes.

Jennifer Crutchfield will continue to serve San Angelo ISD as the Director of Communications. She served as the Director of Advanced Academics & Fine Arts from 2017-2019 and as the Interim Director of Communications beginning in January 2019. Before serving as director, Mrs. Crutchfield was the principal at Carver Learning Center. Mrs. Crutchfield has 27 years of experience including teacher, school counselor, campus and district administrator. Mrs. Crutchfield holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. A native of San Angelo, Mrs. Crutchfield returned to the area in July of 2016. “I love living in West Texas. San Angelo ISD has great schools, and I enjoy working with a wonderful team of educators.”

Dr. Stephanie Free will be the Executive Director of Federal and State Programs for San Angelo ISD. Most recently Dr. Free served the district as the Executive Director of Special Programs. Dr. Free has 29 years of experience including teacher, At-Risk Coordinator, and campus and district administrator. Dr. Free holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from Lubbock Christian University. She holds a Master of Education degree from Angelo State University and a Doctorate of Education degree from Texas Tech University. Dr. Free has served SAISD for 20 years and is eager to begin her new role on July 1st.

San Angelo ISD welcomes Dian Underwood, MS, CCC-SLP, as the new Director of Special Programs. Mrs. Underwood has served as both a Director and Assistant Director of Special Education for the past nine years and comes with over 22 years of experience in education. Mrs. Underwood comes to SAISD from Tri County SSA in Commerce, Texas where she was the Director of Special Education. She holds both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Communication Disorders from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Lubbock, Texas. Mrs. Underwood will begin her new role on July 1st.

San Angelo ISD welcomes Mr. Wes Underwood as Chief of School Leadership. Mr. Underwood comes to SAISD from Greenville ISD in Greenville, Texas where he served most recently as Assistant Superintendent of Operations. Prior to serving in his role as Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Underwood served as Greenville ISD’s Executive Director of Secondary Education, and Chief of School Leadership Officer. Mr. Underwood’s experience includes collaboratively leading principals and school administrators, curriculum leadership, and leading and coordinating professional learning in Greenville ISD. Mr. Underwood holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Texas Tech University and a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Mr. Underwood begins his new role on July 1st.
