SAN ANGELO, TX-- Angelo State Alumnus and San Angelo native San Angelo native Dr. Jack W. Nowlin, dean of the Texas Tech University School of Law, will deliver the commencement addresses during ASU’s fall graduation ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 15, in the Junell Center/Stephens Arena, according to ASU press release.
The commencement ceremony for the the College of Education, Archer College of Health and Human Services, and College of Graduate Studies and Research at a 10 a.m. ceremony. The College of Arts and Humanities, Norris-Vincent College of Business, College of Science and Engineering, and College of Graduate Studies and Research at a 2 p.m. ceremony.
Nowlin graduated from ASU in 1991, and became the dean of TTU school of law in 2017. He was twice named Law Professor of the Year and received the Ben A. Hardy Faculty Excellence Award for outstanding teaching, research and service. Nowlin earned his bachelor’s degree in English from ASU in 1991 and his juris doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law in 1994. He also holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in politics from Princeton University. He is a member of the Texas Bar and Lubbock Area Bar Association, secretary and treasurer of the TTU Law School Foundation Board, and a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
