Angelo State University Receives Gift to Establish Endowed Chair in the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State University has received a generous monetary gift from alumnus Mark Low to establish the Low Family Chair in Accounting in ASU’s Norris-Vincent College of Business.

The Texas Tech University System Board of Regents approved the gift at its quarterly meeting last week.

“The Low Family Chair in Accounting will be held by an accounting faculty member,” said Dr. Clifton Jones, dean of the Norris-Vincent College of Business. “We are pleased to receive this generous support from a distinguished and successful alum, and are humbled by his confidence in our faculty and staff within the college and his sincere interest in the success of our students.”

Low, a 1978 graduate, is the CEO of Juno Energy III, LLC, an oil and gas producer based in Plano. His generous gift will provide valuable, essential financial support for the growing degree programs within the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance.

“Our gratitude for alumnus Mark Low’s generosity can’t be expressed,” ASU President Brian May said. “The Low Family Chair in Accounting will strengthen Angelo State’s accounting program by supporting an additional faculty position in this area. Future students will benefit from this legacy.”

The Low Family Chair in Accounting will be awarded to an outstanding faculty member recommended by the dean of the Norris-Vincent College of Business and upon approval by the president of the university in accordance with the policies of Angelo State University.
