SAISD board trustee Art Hernandez, also sporting a Bobcat orange tie, accepted the graduates from CHS Principal Bill Waters. Prior, Waters encouraged graduates to put down their smart phones, turn off social media, and get lost in a good book. Board Treasurer Bill Dendle presented diplomas to each of the graduates.

Teachers in black gowns escorted students in blue gowns with Bobcat orange sashes. Prior to the graduates walking in, a video montage of teachers from various departments, English, Math, Drama, gave the to-be graduates farewells and encouragement for the future. "Always make good choices," one teacher said on video.
The Junell Center is packed and overflowing with parents and families. Because of the number of grads, just as it has been in the past, each graduate is offered up to eight tickets. Entry to the Junell center is tightly controlled.
Graduates are well behaved. Prior, graduates were told that outbursts or even if they tape messages on their caps the school would withhold their diploma and transcripts.
Superintendent Carl Dethloff is sporting a Bobcat orange tie.
It took 15 minutes for the graduates to enter and take their seats.
The valedictory address was delivered by the valedictorian with the longest name in the history of CHS, Mr. Skylar Morgan Sonnevelt-Bixler.
His advice to graduates? Purchase and use a daily planner.
The entire board of trustees was on stage.
SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Central High School's graduating class of 2018 is set to walk the stage today.
According to the San Angelo Independent School District Website, the Central Class of 2018 graduates at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Junell Center at Angelo State University.
Lake View High School's Class of 2018 graduates at 4 p.m. today in the San Angelo Coliseum.
