SAN ANGELO, TX -- Lake View High School and Central High School students will be able to tour a state-of-the-art mobile audio and HD video recording and production facility when they return to class Monday, March 19 after spring break.
According to SAISD Director of Communications Derrick Jackson, the district is one of only four in Texas selected by the Texas Association of School Administrators to host the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.
John Lennon founded the band the Beatles and together with Paul McCartney was part of the most commercially successful band in history. He was shot and killed by a fan in 1980, some 38 years ago. To put that into perspective, most high school students’ parents weren’t born when Lennon died.
The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus travels the country visiting schools, music and technology events, and partners with communities and media outlets to call attention to the importance of the arts and digital media education.
Lennon said, “My function in society is to be an artist. Art is a functional part of society. If you don't have artists, you don't have society. We're not some kind of decadent strip show that appears on the side. We're as important as prime ministers or policemen."
The interactive experience allows students see college and career opportunities in visual and performing arts and digital media production and communications.

A little research will show John Lennon as a radical leftist for his time...very socialist in his views. While the music the Beatles produced was sensational, it many will be surprised when they actually read John Lennon's views on life and government.
