A discussion and video presentation of the new technology of drones being used in the energy industry will be the focus of the next meeting organized by the Desk and Derrick Club of San Angelo on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. The speaker for this presentation is Tom Ashmore. Tom Ashmore spent 21 years in the Air Force as a special intelligence analyst. Since retiring he has worked in computer modeling and simulation for the Air Force Intelligence School at Goodfellow AFB, Texas. He began Westex Skycam Professional Drone Services in 2014 and they received their FAA certification in August 2015. He has produced drone videos for real estate, archeology, insurance companies, oil companies, retail businesses and universities. After the presentation, he will provide a live fly demonstration and answer questions.
Networking lunch begins at 11:30 am with the program beginning at noon and will be held at the San Angelo Country Club at 1609 Country Club Rd, San Angelo, TX 76904. The cost is $16, payable by cash or check and includes lunch. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
