The San Angelo ISD school board unanimously approved the hiring of Dean Munn as the new Executive Director of Federal and State Programs during the Dec. 14 board meeting, said a press release Wednesday. Munn will take the place of Becky Trojcak, who is retiring, and will join the SAISD team after the start of the spring semester.
Munn is a native of West Texas and currently serves as an Education Specialist at the Region XV Education Service Center, and has served since 2009. He is well known across this educational region as well as in Austin for his work at Region XV.
According to the press release, Munn holds both a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance Major and a Master's of Education in Public School Administration from Angelo State University. He previously served as a teacher and an elementary school principal.
Munn has two children, and his wife is an Assistant Principal at SAISD's Central Freshman Campus.

All campuses and facilities of SAISD will be closed Dec. 21, 2015 through Jan. 1, 2016.
On Dec.18, campuses will have early release and the administration building will close at 3 p.m. All campuses and facilities will reopen Jan. 4, 2016 at 8 a.m.
