Michael Kalnbach Named as McGill Elementary Principal

 

Glenn Middle School Assistant Principal Michael Kalnbach has been named principal at McGill Elementary School.  Kalnbach has served at Glenn for the past five years, where he initiated measures to close achievement gaps for at-risk students.

Kalnbach moved to San Angelo in 1992 when his father retired from the United States Air Force.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Angelo State University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.  He taught for four years in another district prior to serving as a World Geography teacher at the Central Freshman Campus. In 2010, he was selected as an Assistant Principal at Glenn and was named the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Assistant Principal of the Year in 2012.

He is married to Brooke Kalnbach, who serves as instructional specialist at Reagan Elementary.  They have three children, two of whom are SAISD students.
