Why Holiman Elementary Students Will Wear Camo Fatigues Thursday

On Thursday, March 12, the Holiman Elementary Panthers will host their annual School Walk for Diabetes sponsored by the American Diabetes Association. Students will turn in donations they have collected on this day and walk in honor of loved ones living with this disease or in memory of loved ones who have died from complications of diabetes. Grade levels will walk at different times throughout the day. Parents are also invited.

Holiman’s walk this year is dedicated to one of their 1st grade students, Aiden, who was diagnosed last year with Type 1 diabetes. Their goal is to raise $4000.

They are expecting a group of Goodfellow soldiers from Aiden’s Dad’s battalion to be here during first grade’s walking time of 12:30-1:15 p.m.

The whole campus is  gearing up for the event and everyone has been asked to wear camo for the day of the walk (symbolizing Aiden’s Army).
