Angelo State University has updated ASU Mobile, its application (app) for smartphones and other mobile devices, with a new look and a number of new features.
ASU Mobile can be downloaded free from the iTunes App Store or, for phones using the Android operating system, the Google Play store. To access ASU Mobile on other mobile devices, open your device’s web browser and enter m.angelo.edu. Be sure to bookmark it.
The app, which was launched in 2010, now includes a Game Day feature in its Athletics area with video and audio clips, as well as live scores from ASU’s NCAA athletics events. The Athletics area already provides schedules, news and more for the Rams and Rambelles.
Visitors and students alike can use the Maps feature to navigate the ASU campus. Whether heading to a class in an unfamiliar building or going to a play in the Modular Theatre, they can tap the Maps icon to find out where they are on campus and how to get to where they are going. There is also a Campus Tour feature for new students.
Two new features are aimed specifically at students. “My ASU” allows students to log in and see their course schedules or registration status and offers access to their campus email. “Be a Ram” links to everything a prospective student needs to know for the Angelo State admissions process.
The app also includes icons to tap into the Porter Henderson Library, the events calendar and ASU news, Blackboard to check assignments, a Safety link to reach ASU police and other support personnel and a Directory of faculty and staff contact information.
