SAN ANGELO, TX ––  A video circulating on social media allegedly shows a 15-year-old San Angelo student being assaulted by a grown man.

According to the teen's family, he was physically assaulted by 36-year-old Paul Oates. The video shows two individuals fighting last week.

While an arrest affidavit is not available at this time, the assault appears to have occurred at Central High School.

The victim's family tells San Angelo Live the assault was a result of mistaken identity as Oates was looking for students who attended Lakeview High School.

The victim is said to have suffered a concussion as a result of the assault.

Oates was arrested earlier this week and charged with assault causing bodily injuring –– a Class A misdemeanor. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

San Angelo Live will update the story as more details become available.

No better than that 36 year old did against the 15 year old, he better hope the 15 year old doesn't see him again when he is 20 or even 18. He also better pray the 15 year old has a very passive dad.
