WATCH: Man Who Intentionally Crashed into Walmart Gets No Jail Time
SAN ANGELO, TX – The man who intentionally crashed his truck into the Walmart on Sherwood Way will serve no jail time.
According to court documents, on Jun. 23, Caleb Wilson, 22, of Eldorado, took a plea deal in which he admitted to crashing through the front entrance at the Walmart at 5501 Sherwood Way.
During the initial indictment, Wilson was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of criminal mischief greater than $2,500 but less than $30,000.
In the deal the DA agreed to drop the aggravated assault charges in return for a guilty plea for the criminal mischief charge.
In the video above, shot on Jun. 28, 2018, Wilson intentionally crashed his vehicle into the Walmart at 5501 Sherwood Way. In the video, Wilson can be seen driving into the front after crashing into the barriers out front. The truck went through the front doors and all the way down a main aisle into the Frozen section before backing out, driving across the parking lot and parking by the gas pumps.
In return for the guilty plea Wilson will be on deferred adjudication probation for five years and will have to pay $3,500 in restitution. Other stipulations in his probation will be constant drug tests, he must stay in Tom Green County, and attend classes including an English reading course where to finish he must obtain education on a sixth grade level.
The entire court process took around three years to complete.
