WATCH: Stango's Seeking Information in Late Night Burglary
SAN ANGELO, TX – Stango's Coffee Shop is seeking the public’s helping in identifying the individual that stole $150 in cash from the register after the coffee shop closed last night.
According to Becca Thorpe, manager at Stango’s, the individual entered the store after they had locked up. The lights were left on in the kitchen section of the restaurant and from the video it appeared the suspect was looking for any remaining employees. When no one answered he took money from the cash register in addition to a drink.
Thorpe says the front door was locked and they believe the individual may have picked the lock to get inside. The incident was caught on video by a Ring device and clearly shows the individual’s face. It appears that when he noticed the camera he attempted to shield his face.
Stango’s has contacted the San Angelo Police Department and are simply seeking to have the stolen cash returned. Thorpe told LIVE! Stango’s is not interested in pressing charges against the alleged burglar but would like to raise awareness of the issue and protect other businesses from becoming targets.
‘We don’t want to press charges; we just want the $150 back,” said Thorpe. “We just want to be able to identify him and be able to help the San Angelo Police with their investigation.”
If anyone has any information regarding the identity of the individual contact San Angelo Police Department or Stango's Coffee Shop at (325) 659-8999.
