San Angelo Man Arrested for Pistol Whipping Woman at Hotel During Robbery

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been arrested after allegedly robbing a woman at a local hotel.

Logan Garza, 25, was arrested by the San Angelo Police Department for aggravated robbery after reportedly pointing a gun at a woman and hitting her with it.

According to court documents, San Angelo police responded to the Oasis Inn, 410 W. Ave. L, regarding an assault victim. The investigator spoke to a witness, who stated that two men attempted to enter his hotel room but realized they had the wrong room. He later invited them into Room 124, where one of the men showed him a gunshot wound to his leg.

The witness was attempting to help the injured man when the other subject, identified as Logan Garza, allegedly went to another room where the victim was staying.

The victim told officers she noticed her hotel room door was slightly open after the witness left. When she attempted to close it, Garza allegedly forced his way inside while holding a handgun to her head and demanding money. She told the suspect she did not have any money and began yelling for the witness. Garza then struck her in the head with the butt of the pistol before fleeing the room, she stated.

The victim reportedly came out of her room and yelled for the witness. As she did, the other subject grabbed some bags and left the hotel.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage from the hotel manager, and the footage reportedly showed Garza running toward the hotel's westbound exit at about 4:45 a.m. with a pistol in his hand. Additional footage allegedly showed him walking around a vehicle with a gun pointed out before slowly making his way back toward the west side of the hotel. Garza was also seen running toward a furniture store west of the property.

The victim was shown a photograph of the defendant from a previous jail booking and identified him as the person who entered her room and struck her with the handgun.

Garza was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Nov. 2, and has a $250,000 bond.
