San Angelo Man Drunkenly Threatens Girlfriend With Handgun

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been arrested after threatening his girlfriend with a handgun.

Christian Castro, 28, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and assault causing bodily injury -family violence.

According to court documents, on Sept. 18, 2026, the investigator was contacted by a sergeant with the San Angelo Police Department regarding an alleged assault that took place in the 4100 block of Wellington Street at the Wellington Place Apartment Complex. The investigator was briefed about a physical altercation in which Castro allegedly pointed a handgun at his girlfriend’s head.

The investigator visited Shannon Medical Center, where it was learned she was allegedly assaulted by Castro after it was discovered she was cheating on him. The victim stated she went out on a date with Castro the night before and came home intoxicated. Then, Castro found out she was cheating, and she said he threw her to the ground, pusher her head into a wall and sat on her.

He then retrieved the handgun out of a drawer and began pointing it around the apartment, according to the victim. Castro then allegedly pointed the gun at the victim and pressed it into the side of her head over and over again. She said he told her he was going to shoot her but turned the gun around and threatened to kill himself before eventually taking the gun and leaving the apartment.

Castro was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Sept. 18, 2026. His bond has been set at $75,000.
