BIG SPRING, TX — A 24-year-old Big Spring man was arrested on a murder charge after allegedly shooting and killing a 33-year-old man during a disturbance Thursday night, police said.
Cameron Williams grabbed a firearm and shot John Flores Jr. after Flores entered the area of East 15th Street and began banging on a vehicle, according to the Big Spring Police Department. The disturbance prompted reports of shots fired, and officers responded to the scene.
A witness identified Flores as the victim. Flores sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken by EMS to Shannon Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
Evidence collected at the scene provided probable cause for the murder charge. Williams was booked into the Howard County Detention Center.
Big Spring Police Department detectives, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Rangers and identification personnel assisted with the investigation.
