SAN ANGELO, TX — A 29-year-old woman walked out of a North U.S. Highway 87 home last Tuesday carrying multiple bags and a fully loaded handgun she had just stolen from inside — and was promptly arrested by Tom Green County deputies.
Patrol deputies responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress in the 6000 block after a caller reported an open door and suspicious property inside the residence. They contacted Karisma Morgan as she exited the front door.
Morgan was detained. An investigation determined she had unlawfully entered the home and taken multiple items, including the loaded handgun found on her person. She was booked into jail on charges of burglary of a habitation and theft of a firearm.
"The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office is grateful for the support of our community and will continue proactive patrols throughout Tom Green County with the ultimate goal being to deter and stop criminal activity," information from the sheriff's office stated.
