San Angelo Man Arrested After 'Terrible' Assault of Nursing Home Resident

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been arrested after sexually assaulting a disabled individual at a nursing home.

Cody Wade, 31, has been arrested by the San Angelo Police Department for aggravated sexual assault after he allegedly forced a dementia patient who was nonverbal to perform a sexual act on him, according to an affidavit obtained by San Angelo LIVE!. 

According to the affidavit, the investigator spoke with an officer who was dispatched to AVIR, a nursing home located at 5455 Knickerbocker Road, regarding a sexual assault. The officer spoke with a woman who had gotten approval from the nursing home to install a camera, as the victim in this case has dementia, is nonverbal, and is a fall risk.

The officer stated that when the woman got onto her phone to check in on the victim, she checked the camera, and she observed the subject, identified as Wade, walking towards the victim.

Wade sat the victim up on her bed and began making thrusts with his pelvis towards the victim’s face, eventually pulling up his shirt and moving closer to the victim’s face. The camera that was installed was situated behind Wade, so his back was towards the camera.

The officer said to the investigator that the video was taken while Wade was in the act. When the investigator observed the video, he saw Wade facing the victim and making a forward motion with his shirt lifted, and his hands were in front of his midsection out of the camera’s view. Afterward, Wade pulled away from the victim, pulled up his pants, and lowered his shirt before laying the victim on the bed.

The investigator spoke with Wade, who was on scene, and he said he did something terrible to a resident in the nursing home. When the investigator asked if Wade could describe what he did, he said he couldn’t. The investigator suggested that it might be easier to write it down. Wade was given a statement-of-fact form and wrote, “I made a resident give me fellatio."

Wade was arrested on July 21, 2026, and was released on July 23, 2026, on a $500,000 bond.

The court documents associated with this incident did not specify if Wade was an employee of AVIR.
