San Angelo Police SWAT Surrounds House Where Wanted Subject is Barricaded

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Police Department SWAT officers are on scene in north San Angelo after a wanted subject fled from police and barricaded themselves inside a home.

According to police, officers attempted to arrest the subject, who then ran into a nearby residence. A police negotiator is currently on scene attempting to persuade the individual to surrender.

Police have not released the gender of the subject or indicated whether the person is armed. The incident began at around 5 p.m. Thursday afternoon, July 25, 2026.

The intersections of 42nd Street and Bowie Street, and 43rd Street and Bowie Street, are currently cordoned off by officers. Police are asking the public to avoid the area.

Update 6:55 p.m.: According to the police, the suspect has begun starting small fires in the house. Some way, police were able to put the fires out as the standoff continues.
