SAPD, DPS Arrest 26 in Memorial Day Weekend Crackdown

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo police officers and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers arrested 26 people and conducted more than 200 traffic stops during a joint enforcement operation over the Memorial Day weekend. 

The operation targeted impaired drivers, reckless driving, narcotics-related offenses, public intoxication and violations involving minors and alcohol or tobacco, the San Angelo Police Department reported. 

Officers issued 53 speeding citations, made seven DWI arrests, 11 narcotics arrests and eight other criminal arrests. They also served eight warrants.

“Strong partnerships between local and state law enforcement play a critical role in enhancing public safety,” the department stated. “We are grateful for the continued collaboration with the Texas Department of Public Safety and remain committed to working together to protect and serve the San Angelo community.”
