Agencies Team Up to Stop Illegal Alien Smuggling Operation in West Texas

CROCKETT COUNTY, TX — Strong teamwork and seamless interagency coordination led to the successful interdiction of an illegal alien smuggling load, Terrell County Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland stated.

The operation involved the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office, a Crockett County constable, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper, the Sanderson and Comstock Border Patrol stations and the Terrell County Sheriff’s Office.

The agencies combined resources, communication and rapid response efforts to stop the smuggling attempt and take those involved into custody, Cleveland stated in a social media post.

“The driver is from Venezuela and the illegal aliens are from Mexico,” he reported.

Cleveland called the effort “a great example of what can be accomplished when local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies work side by side with a shared mission.”

“Partnerships like these strengthen border security, enhance public safety, and demonstrate the commitment these agencies have to protecting the citizens of Texas,” he said. “Outstanding work by all involved.”
