Abilene Mother Killed in Murder-Suicide on Sunday

ABILENE, TX — A 25-year-old Abilene woman was killed early Sunday in an apparent murder-suicide.

Ariana Herrera was found dead in her vehicle shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the VYBZ night club at 133 Eplens Court in Abilene.

Her estranged boyfriend, Jalavion Beaver, 26, was found near the vehicle from what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to investigators.

Police stated the two were having an argument before Beaver killed Herrera and then shot himself.

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for Herrera at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the VYBZ parking lot.

Attendees are being asked to not speak about the details from Sunday as her young son will be at the vigil.

A GoFundMe has also been created to fund funeral expenses for Herrera and help support her son.

“We are heartbroken to share that our beloved sister was taken from us far too soon. She was a light in our lives—kind, loving, and always there when anyone needed her. Her laughter could fill a room, and her heart was bigger than words can describe,” the GoFundMe stated.
