Abilene Police Investigating Infant's Death

ABILENE, TX — Abilene police are investigating the death of an infant found late Tuesday at a home, with few details released due to the child’s age.

Officers responded to a residence in the 5200 block of South Seventh Street, where the infant was discovered dead, according to authorities. The case is being treated as an active death investigation.

No arrests have been made.

Officials said state law limits how much information can be publicly disclosed in cases involving infants. As a result, authorities have not released details about the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.

Police said no media briefing is planned at this time while the investigation remains ongoing.
