THC Vape Pen Lands Jailer Behind Bars

 

CANYON, TX— A Randall County Detention Officer has been arrested for possessing a THC vape pen.

The Randall County Sheriff’s Office has issued information stating that a jailer in their detention center has been arrested.

According to information, Darion Cash was arrested for Possession of a Prohibited Substance inside a Correctional Facility.

The release says:

"On March 26, 2026, the Randall County Sheriff’s Office became aware that a correctional officer was in possession of a THC vape pen for personal use inside the Randall County Jail. The information was referred to the Randall County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and Internal Affairs Division.

Darion Cash was subsequently terminated, arrested, and booked into the Randall County Jail on a second-degree felony charge under Texas Penal Code 38.11, Prohibited Substance and Items in a Correctional or Civil Commitment Facility. A second- degree felony is punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000."
