Stephenville Police Investigating Murder-Suicide

 

STEPHENVILLE, TX— The Stephenville Police Department is investigating an apparent murder-suicide where two men were found dead.

On Facebook, the Stephenville Police Department posted the following release:

"On February 17, 2026, at approximately 9:39 p.m., officers with the Stephenville Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Linda Lane.

"Upon arrival, officers located two adult males outside a residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates the incident appears to be a murder-suicide.

"There is no ongoing threat to the public. The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

"This remains an active investigation at this time."
