Sheriff Responds to Shooting in Veribest

 

VERIBEST, TX — Authorities say the scene of a shooting Wednesday evening in Veribest has been cleared, the area is safe, and a suspect is believed to be contained elsewhere. 

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office issued an alert referring to "recent police activity in Veribest," declaring the area cleared and safe. 

Tom Green County Sheriff Nick Hanna stated that the medical condition of any victim remains unknown as the investigation is rapidly unfolding

This all happened around 7 p.m. at a residence located off Veribest Park Road. 

Shannon Medical Center's AirMed1 helicopter was dispatched to the scene. 

Sources close to the situation say the shooting was a result of a domestic dispute that turned violent.

The suspect's identity has not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
