Convicted Murderer Back in Jail for Slapping Child

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man convicted of murder has been arrested again for allegedly hitting a child in the eye.

Trestin Wollner, 30, was arrested for injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury.

According to court documents, an investigator responded to Lincoln Middle School and spoke with a School Resource Officer regarding an injury to a child. The child victim told the school officer that the subject, identified as Wollner, hit them across the face, leaving them with a mark on their eye that caused pain.

The investigator transported the child victim to the Hope House for a forensic interview. There, bruising and a dark red mark on the child’s left eye were observed. During the interview, the child victim stated that during a conversation with their mother, Wollner interrupted. He had become upset and sent the child to their room.

Afterward, Wollner went to the child’s bedroom where the victim backed up to the closet. Wollner reportedly grabbed the victim’s wrists with his left hand, raised his right hand, and backhanded the child across the face. The victim said the backhanded slap caused pain across their nose and the red mark on their eye. They also said that Wollner’s rings caused pain as well.

Wollner was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Feb. 4, 2026, and is currently an inmate. It was stated in the arrest affidavit that Wollner's action was "well beyond the point of reasonable discipline."

In April 2014, Wollner was convicted in the murder of Samuel Sterling Harrison and was sentenced to 11 years in prison by a jury. Wollner was 17 years old when he killed the 19-year-old Harrison at a party. He was eligible for parole after serving half his prison sentence.
