Arrest Made in October's Enclave Apartment Shooting

SAN ANGELO, TX — The alleged gunman in the Enclave Apartment shooting has been arrested.

Vul Parras, 38, of San Angelo, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an investigation took place into the Enclave Apartment shooting that occurred in October 2025.

According to court documents, on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, San Angelo police responded to a shooting at the apartment complex at 17 W. 31st St. Upon arrival to the scene, an investigator was informed that the victim had sustained several gunshot wounds and was located at a nearby convenience store. After speaking with other law enforcement, it was learned that the victim drove into the parking lot of the store in a hurried manner and was yelling that he had been shot. The victim was transported to Shannon Medical Center by ambulance.

At the hospital, the victim said that he had been involved in an ongoing dispute with a woman identified as Ashlynn Renae Cannon since Oct. 1, 2025. After that, the victim began receiving threatening messages from Vul Parras, who the victim knew was affiliated with Cannon.

The victim said he arrived at the Enclave Apartments to settle the dispute with Cannon but was met by Parras, who approached the victim’s driver-side window. The victim said he told Parras to move away from his vehicle as Cannon began walking up. As he began speaking with Cannon, he observed Parras walk to the back of his truck. Parras then began shooting into the victim’s vehicle, striking him multiple times. The victim quickly fled in an attempt to find law enforcement.

The investigator reviewed contents from the victim’s cell phone and observed threatening message from Parras. In addition, video surveillance evidence was reviewed, which captured the shooting and corroborated the victim’s statement.

The San Angelo Police Department issued a press release the same day that stated it was investigating the shooting.

Parras was arrested on Jan. 7, 2026, booked into the Tom Green County Jail, and is being held on $200,000 bond.
