SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Police Department and other first responders were called to a stabbing Tuesday on the south side of San Angelo.
About 2:10 p.m., a stabbing victim was reported in the 600 block of San Jacinto Street. On scene, a woman was observed in custody as she was being loaded into a police cruiser.
San Angelo Police Chief Travis Griffith issued a statement on scene to the media.
"The San Angelo Police Department responded to the 600 block of San Jacinto Street at about 10 minutes after 2 p.m. regarding a stabbing victim. Officers responded, and they do have a middle-aged male patient being treated at Shannon Hospital right now that was transported by the San Angelo Fire Department. We have our criminal investigations division on scene and two people detained at this time. We are still investigating the nature of the events that occurred here. There will be more information that will be released when we have that information. Right now, it's pretty fluid right now as we have a lot of witnesses and it's a spread-out area. We will report that to you as soon as we get that information."
Griffith also said there are no known threats to the neighborhood at this time. The victim is reported to be in stable condition.
