SAN ANGELO, TX — Two people were stabbed at a residence in San Angelo on Wednesday morning.
At 11:17 a.m., San Angelo police responded to the area of Malone Street and Harris Avenue for a stabbing call.
San Angelo Police Chief Travis Griffith said the first officer was on scene within one minute of the call and located two male stabbing victims, both in their 60s. The officer was able to immediately provide medical treatment to the victims.
They're currently listed in stable but critical condition and being treated at Shannon Hospital.
A 62-year-old suspect, Juan Padilla, was taken into custody and has since confessed to the stabbings.
Griffith said Padilla initially went back into the residence, but upon officers surrounding the house, he chose to surrender peacefully.
Padilla and the victims are believed to be family members, Griffith said, but no motive has yet been determined.
Padilla has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and he was booked into the Tom Green County Jail.
