SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been arrested after allegedly attacking a woman with a knife while he was intoxicated.
Bobby Crawford, 58, of San Angelo, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to court documents, on Oct. 28, 2025, San Angelo police were dispatched to the 300 block of Iris Street regarding an aggravated assault. Officers on scene relayed information to the investigator that Crawford had become upset with a woman’s husband and was confronted by the woman. The officer stated that Crawford grabbed a knife from the kitchen and attempted to stab or cut the woman and, during the altercation, cut the woman’s hand.
The investigator responded to Shannon Medical Center, where the victim was receiving treatment for her wounds. The victim said she was watching television when Crawford left the room to make a sandwich in the kitchen. The victim’s husband, who has dementia, followed Crawford.
Crawford began yelling at the victim’s husband and told him to leave the kitchen The victim confronted Crawford about the way he was speaking to her husband, and Crawford became angry and yelled in her face. Then, the victim told Crawford she was tired of his drinking as he was intoxicated at the time of the incident. She also said she wanted him out of the house.
Crawford reportedly attempted to hand the victim the food he prepared, but she stated she did not want it. He put the food down and grabbed a knife from the butcher’s block on the counter, then held it in the air while grabbing the victim. Crawford then allegedly told the victim he was going to kill her but fell to the ground due to his level of intoxication, and the victim fell to the ground as well.
The victim said she believed Crawford would have stabbed her in the chest and, once they fell to the floor, he began swinging the knife in an attempt to stab her. While doing this, Crawford reportedly again stated he would kill her. The victim said she tried to grab the knife, but doing this caused lacerations on her fingers. Crawford eventually stopped and the victim called the police.
On the victim’s left hand, a laceration across her knuckles, thumb, middle finger, and index finger were observed, and all of them required sutures.
Crawford was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and his bond has been set at $100,000.
