Alleged Gunman in Greenwood Street Drive-By Shooting Arrested

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The alleged shooter in the Greenwood Street drive-by has been arrested.

Julian Torres, 18, of San Angelo, has been arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest or detention.

According to court documents, on Sept. 21, 2025, around 2:41 p.m., San Angelo police responded to the Legacy Terrace Apartments, 2010 Greenwood Street, for a shooting victim. When officers arrived, they were directed by a witness to the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.

The victim was transported to Shannon Medical Center, where he was found to have sustained serious injury.

The investigator spoke with a witness who was in the parking lot when the victim was shot. They described a light-colored truck driving west on Greenwood Street, and when the truck began to pass the apartments, the witness observed gunshots coming from the passenger side of the truck in the direction of the victim and other individuals nearby.

The truck kept traveling west towards the 2200 block of Howard Street.

Video surveillance was reviewed and, around 2:33 p.m., a 2008 Chevrolet Trail Blazer was seen traveling north on Howard Street and turned east on Greenwood Street, passing Legacy Terrace Apartments. At 2:38 p.m., the same vehicle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed driving west on Greenwood Street and across Howard Street, disregarding the stop sign. Also, during this time, multiple gunshots could be heard at around 2:38 p.m.

On Sept. 23, 2025, video footage was obtained from the 2600 block of Glenwood Drive. In that video, two individuals hurriedly exit the Chevrolet Trail Blazer after the shooting. One of the subjects ran south on Childress Street, and the other individual ran east into the south alley of the 2500 block of Glenwood Drive. The driver continued south on Childress Street.

A witness confirmed and corroborated the identities of the individuals who ran from the vehicle. The driver was identified as Rual Andres Landin, the back passenger was identified as Jacob Flores, and the front passenger was identified as Julian Torres. The witness observed Torres fire about five times towards the victim and one other subject. The witness also said that one of the gunshots hit the victim in his lower back.

Torres was arrested on Oct. 24, 2025, and is currently an inmate in the Tom Green County Jail being held on $250,500 bond.
