SAN ANGELO, TX — The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office conducted a daytime saturation patrol Thursday that resulted in six arrests, multiple vehicle searches, and a short pursuit ending near a local Walmart.
According to the sheriff’s office, the five-hour operation took place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. across three pre-identified areas and involved the Criminal Investigations, Patrol, and Warrants Divisions. Deputies conducted 35 traffic stops and nine vehicle searches during the effort.
The pursuit began when suspects attempted to flee law enforcement but ended after they abandoned their vehicle in a parking lot and tried to hide inside Walmart. They were quickly located and arrested.
Five of the six arrests involved illegal narcotics, and several individuals also had outstanding warrants.
“Having multiple deputies within our different divisions working together to saturate some of our higher crime areas will hopefully send a clear and resounding message to the criminal element within our community,” Sheriff Nick Hanna said.
The sheriff’s office stated that it remains committed to combating criminal activity and keeping illegal substances off the streets through proactive enforcement operations like this one.
