Two in Custody After High-Speed Chase in Sonora

 

SONORA, TX — Authorities in Sonora reported Friday afternoon that two people are in custody following a high-speed chase that came into the city from U.S. Highway 277 South.

The City of Sonora issued the initial alert at 2:06 p.m., warning residents to avoid the area as the pursuit approached from the south.

By 2:51 p.m., officials confirmed that law enforcement had taken two subjects into custody. Authorities also said they are no longer searching for additional individuals connected to the incident.

“This is a follow-up regarding the recent incident involving a vehicle pursuit south of Sonora,” the advisory stated. “Local law enforcement has confirmed that two subjects are now in custody.”

No other details have been released at this time.
