Bullet Misses San Angelo Man’s Head in Argument, Suspect Jailed

SAN ANGELO, TX— A San Angelo man has been arrested for shooting a gun at someone inside a house.

Joshewa Burdick, 42, of San Angelo, has been booked into the Tom Green County Jail for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

According to court documents, on Sept. 9, 2025, the investigator contacted a San Angelo police officer regarding an aggravated assault. The officer advised that they were dispatched to the unit block of East 42nd Street.

Dispatch communicated that there was a subject with a firearm, and they had possibly heard a shot fired over the phone line. Upon arrival, the officer contacted the victim, who said he was sleeping at his friend’s house.

He said he was woken up by a witness so they could grab something to eat.

Burdick was becoming angry because the victim was not getting out of bed fast enough, and this led to a verbal argument. The victim stated that Burdick called him a “bi***” and the victim told him not to call him that again. Burdick then went into the living room and repeated his remark.

The victim walked in and told Burdick to step outside. Then, Burdick produced a firearm, a Taurus GC3 9mm, pointed it at the victim, and fired a shot that went by the victim’s left ear and embedded into the sheetrock on the wall. The victim was not injured by the gunshot but stated the bullet went near his head and caused his ears to ring. After Burdick shot the gun, the victim went outside and called the police.

The investigator observed a shell casing on the stove inside the kitchen and a hole in the sheetrock. The bullet was located in the next room, lodged in the wall.

Burdick was arrested on Sept. 10, 2025, and was booked into the Tom Green County Jail. He is currently an inmate being held on $29,000 bond. In addition to the aggravated assault, Burdick was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
