Wife Charged With Husband’s Murder in Coleman

COLEMAN, TX — The wife of a Coleman man who was killed in February has been arrested and charged with murder, according to information released by the Coleman County Sheriff’s Office.

Jennifer Sueann Murphy became the second suspect arrested in the death of Connor Leigh Murphy, a 26-year-old man who was found in front of a Coleman residence suffering from gunshot wounds.

Jace Landyn Scott, 17, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.

Two weeks after her husband’s death, Murphy posted the following on a grief support page on Facebook:

“My husband was shot a killed in front of me and our 14 month old daughter on 02/25/2025 at the young age of 26. Two weeks to the day. I’m due to bring our last baby girl into this world in June. How do you guys do it? I feel so lost. I feel like my world has been crushed to no repair. No person should be a widow in their thirties. When he took his last breath in my arms I lost faith in god and in humanity. I lived in a small town two minutes away from the hospital. It took 45 minutes for anyone to get to me. I couldn’t drive him myself I was holding pressure on his wounds. The person who shot just stood there watching. How do one get over that feeling a rage and anger? The cries from my husband begging for help haunt me every single night. This is something I feel like I’ll never get over.”

The Texas Rangers have reportedly been investigating the shooting.
