SONORA, TX — A manhunt is underway in Sonora for a murder suspect described as "armed and extremely dangerous," according to a community alert issued early Wednesday by city officials.
Austin John Rodriguez, 30, is wanted for murder and is currently being sought by the Sonora Police Department, Sutton County Sheriff’s Office, and Texas Rangers.

Residents are urged not to approach Rodriguez if seen. Anyone with information about his location should contact law enforcement immediately at 325-387-2288.
“Your cooperation is critical to ensuring community safety,” the alert stated.
Reports from a reader are that the Texas Rangers, US Marshals, and Customs Border Patrol Tactical Unit are on scene in a rural part of Sonora participating in the manhunt for the suspect.
