No Credible Threat at Lake View High School, Police Say

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Police Department clarified Thursday morning that there is no credible threat to public safety following a social media post about an incident at Lake View High School.

According to a department release, the post prompted multiple concerned calls. After coordinating with San Angelo ISD administrators and on-site officers, authorities confirmed the situation posed no danger to students or staff.

Police said the incident involved a student found in possession of a vape device who briefly fled from a school resource officer. A second SRO helped quickly and safely resolve the situation. No weapons were involved.

“We understand the concern these types of posts can cause and appreciate the public’s vigilance,” the release stated, thanking SAISD for its collaboration. "We remain committed to working closely with our school partners to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff."

The department urged the public to report concerns directly to law enforcement or school officials and to avoid spreading unverified information online.
