Man Arrested After Pit Bull Puppy Found Dead in Burglary Investigation

SAN ANGELO, TX — A 30-year-old man was arrested following a burglary investigation that led San Angelo police to uncover an alleged act of animal cruelty, according to the San Angelo Police Department.

Over the weekend, officers responded to a report of burglary with intent at a residence in the 1900 block of Wilson. During the investigation, officers discovered that Roman Medrano had allegedly killed a three-month-old pit bull puppy.

A warrant was obtained for Medrano’s arrest on a charge of cruelty to non-livestock animals. He was taken into custody Tuesday at the same residence without incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and police said additional charges may be pending. No further information is available at this time.

His bond has been set at $25,000.
