Man Accused of Assaulting Elderly Woman in San Angelo Caught in Fredericksburg

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A man accused of assaulting an 81-year-old woman during a robbery Monday afternoon has been taken into custody in Fredericksburg, according to the San Angelo Police Department.

Officers were dispatched around 5:30 p.m. April 7 to the 4300 block of Rodeo Drive, where they found the woman unconscious after an apparent assault. She was transported to Shannon Medical Center and later flown out of San Angelo for further treatment.

Christian Knowlton, 27, was identified as a person of interest. Police also listed the victim’s stolen white 2018 Jeep Renegade, Texas license plate MNH2244, as a vehicle of interest in the case.

Police confirmed Tuesday evening that Knowlton was located and taken into custody in Fredericksburg. Further details regarding his arrest were not immediately released.
