Three Texas Jailers Arrested for Alleged Assault on Inmate

 

POLK COUNTY, TX — Three Polk County Sheriff’s Office jailers were arrested and charged with aggravated assault by a public servant after allegedly assaulting an inmate inside the Polk County Jail on February 4, 2025, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The inmate, identified as a 34-year-old man from Kingwood, was reportedly assaulted by jail staff, prompting an investigation led by the Texas Rangers at the request of Sheriff Byron Lyons.

The arrested jailers were identified as:

  1. Ty Paredes, 27, of Shepherd
  2. Christopher Damian, 29, of Livingston
  3. Agapito Correa, 31, of Conroe

All three were charged with a felony offense of aggravated assault by a public servant. Authorities have not released details on the circumstances of the alleged assault, and the investigation remains ongoing.
