Midland Man Arrested After Running From Police on I-20 Overpass

 

MIDLAND, TX – A man accused of stealing from a local Walmart led police on a chase along an I-20 overpass before officers were able to detain him.

Daniel Aguilar-Lopez was arrested after police responded to reports of theft at the Midland Walmart. According to local media reports, Lopez stole more than $300 worth of merchandise and fled when officers arrived.

He ran into traffic along I-20 before climbing onto the ledge of the overpass, where he threatened to jump if police came closer. Officers were eventually able to pull him to safety and take him into custody.

Lopez is charged with evading arrest and detention with previous convictions, as well as theft of property between $100 and $750.
