Passenger Critically Injured After Gunfire Strikes Truck in South Abilene

 

ABILENE, TX – A person is in critical condition following a shooting early Friday morning in South Abilene, according to police.

Officers responded around 3 a.m. to the 4700 block of South 14th Street after reports of an injured person. They found a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the individual to a hospital in critical condition.

According to police, the victim was a passenger in a truck that was struck by multiple gunshots. The suspects, who were in a second vehicle, fled the scene before officers arrived. Detectives are actively searching for the suspects and the vehicle involved.

Authorities said the shooting was not random. No other injuries were reported.
