Abilene Police Seek Suspect in Fatal Apartment Complex Shooting

ABILENE, TX — Abilene detectives have issued an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Ivonyai Lamb in connection with a fatal shooting at a South Abilene apartment complex on February 7.

Lamb is charged with first-degree murder and is believed to be in either the Abilene or Killeen area.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the Cedar Creek apartment complex in the 1900 block of Denton Street. Officers responding to reports of multiple gunshots discovered a man outside one of the buildings suffering from gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced deceased and identified as 46-year-old Ramiel Sanders of Abilene.

Witnesses reported seeing a male suspect flee the area in a grey truck before police arrived. Investigators have since determined that the victim and suspect knew each other, ruling out the incident as a random act of violence.

Abilene Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Lamb. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Abilene Police at (325) 676-6610. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Abilene Crime Stoppers at (325) 676-8477 (TIPS) or through the P3 app, with the possibility of a cash reward.
