Abilene Police Seek Victims of Man Arrested for Child Sex Crimes

ABILENE, TX — Abilene police are seeking additional victims after the arrest of a registered sex offender found in possession of child pornography.

On Jan. 31, Abilene police conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of N 12th Street and identified the driver as 50-year-old Luis Diaz Jr. Officers discovered Diaz had an active warrant for failing to comply with his sex offender registry, stemming from an initial offense of Indecency with a Child by Contact.

During a probable cause search, officers found a box containing multiple electronic devices. Diaz was taken into custody for the outstanding warrant, and investigators later discovered disturbing sexual images involving minors on the devices. He was transported to the Taylor County Jail and charged with Possession of Child Pornography.
