Suspect at Large in Winkler County After Traffic Stop

 

KERMIT, TX — Law enforcement officials are searching for a suspect who fled a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Poplar Street on Sunday evening, according to the Winkler County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect, described as a Hispanic male, 5’8” tall, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, reportedly fled east from the traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody on felony warrants, WCSO stated.

Authorities are asking residents in the area to remain observant and report any sightings of an individual matching the suspect’s description.

The situation remains under investigation, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
